How our exchange rates work
The rates you see are mid-market rates — the midpoint between global buy and sell prices — derived from live market data and refreshed every hour. To help you estimate the real cost of exchanging money, every conversion page also compares the typical dealer margins (0–5%) charged by banks, ATMs, credit cards, and exchange kiosks.
